About IES Columbus

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) is the recognized technical authority on illumination. For over 100 years; its objective has been to communicate information on all aspects of good lighting practice to its members, to the lighting community, and to consumers, through a variety of programs, publications, and services.

The IES Columbus Section offers formal educational programs, sharing a common interest in lighting, controls, energy and their respective technologies. From beginner to advanced, we offer programs related to specific applications based on IES standards as well as programs on new and emerging trends and technologies.

Speaker Bio:

Mr. Mitchell is a senior engineer responsible for and designer of electrical systems for various educational, healthcare, institutional, commercial, and governmental clients. Work involves power distribution system design, emergency power systems design, lighting system design, fire detection system design, engineering field studies, preparation of construction and electrical equipment specifications, preparation of and design and approval of construction drawings and bid documents, electrical facility assessment reports, and master planning for campus environments.
